The MEB Regulatory Science Day will be held on Thursday 14th of February 2019 in the Muntgebouw in Utrecht. The subject of this year’s MEB Science Day is ‘Advanced therapies, regulation and clinical application’, with prof. Marc Turner as one of the Keynote speakers.

Professor Marc Turner is the Medical director of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) and Professor of Cellular Therapy at the University of Edinburgh. The regulatory perspective will be presented by the Dutch representative of the Committee of Advanced Therapies (CAT), and reflections on ATMP development are provided by representatives from academia, the Dutch Health Inspectorate (IGJ) and industry (Kite Pharma).

Questions that will be discussed during the meeting include: What is necessary to make an ATMP a success, i.e. getting the product to the patient/marketing authorisation? Which (scientific) hurdles have been encountered, and what can we learn from the solutions?
