RSNN at FIGON Dutch Medicines Day: Presentations now available

On 9 October RSNN organized a parallel session at the FIGON Dutch Medicines Days on the topic "Patient Access to Unregistered Medicines: Current Developments in Compassionate Use" (Abstract). The slides presented during this session are now available for download.
The RSNN parallel session was chaired by Marjon Pasmooij (Head of the scientific department at Medicines Evaluation Board, co-chair RSNN) and focused on regulatory and practical aspects of early access to unauthorized medicines in the Netherlands and across Europe, with specific attention to Compassionate Use Programs (CUPs).
During the session, four speakers with different background presented their view on these Compassionate Use Programs. The panel highlighted unresolved legal ambiguities regarding the continuation of CUPs after marketing authorization, variations in European approval criteria, and the need for shared data collection frameworks as reflected in the 2023 EU Pharmaceutical Legislation revision.
