In 2025, RSNN celebrated its 10-year anniversary. In the Annual Report, we are presenting an overview of the activities and achievements of RSNN in 2025. 

On Thursday 11 September 2025, a Regulatory Science Network Netherlands (RSNN) Expert Meeting was held with a total of twenty-six participants with diverse expertise from nine different European countries. During the meeting the potential of the European Platform for Neurodegenerative Diseases (EPND) was discussed. 

On December 9th, the masterclass 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗔𝗠𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲  on New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) brought together scientists, regulators, industry leaders and innovation networks to discuss how scientific advances can accelerate safer, more effective, and increasingly animal-free drug development.

In 2025, the Regulatory Science Network Netherlands (RSNN) marked its ten-year anniversary. 

On November 18th, RSNN celebrated its 10 year anniversary during the Annual Workshop.  The Annual Workshop focused on Single Arm Trials with its benefits and challenges.  

The RSNN Special Interest Group Advanced Therapies Expert Meeting on in vivo gene editing took place on Tuesday 15 July 2025.

On 9 October RSNN organized a parallel session at the FIGON Dutch Medicines Days on the topic "Patient Access to Unregistered Medicines: Current Developments in Compassionate Use" (Abstract). The slides presented during this session are now available for download.

As of 2025, Rick Vreman (Policy Lead and Head of Access Operations at Roche Netherlands) has been appointed as co-chair of the RSNN. He is replacing Sjaak Bot, who retired last year, as representative of the industry stakeholder group. We spoke with Rick about his background, the RSNN, and his new position.

Op woensdag 12 maart 2025 vond de opvolgende RSNN Expert meeting “Klinisch onderzoeksklimaat in Nederland: Reflectie en vooruitblik op het Nationaal Actieplan Klinisch Onderzoek” plaats. Een groep van 26 experts kwam bijeen om te reflecteren op het Nationaal Actieplan Klinisch Onderzoek. 

Registration for the RSNN Annual Workshop 2025: "One arm, many challenges: the role of single-arm trials in regulatory and clinical context" is now open. The event will take place on 18 November 2025 in person at Villa Jongerius in Utrecht.

We are excited to announce that 2025 will mark the 10 year anniversary of the RSNN! Over the past 10 years the RSNN has successfully brought relevant stakeholders together around important regulatory topics, and has contributed to setting the agenda for regulatory innovation in the Netherlands and internationally.

The RSNN Expert Meeting on the topic of a minimal dataset for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) registry took place on 25 September 2024. The aim of the meeting was to gather input on the concept NSCLC minimal dataset.  15 experts representing various backgrounds such as regulators, HTA experts and patient representatives attended the meeting.

"Future meetings, discussions and workshops within, but not limited to, the European regulatory network are recommended to establish publicly disclosed interaction models to facilitate interaction between stakeholders (...) with the goal of realising an optimal framework for generating RWE to be included in the regulatory decision-making process."
